IT’S OUR 150th BIRTHDAY!
It’s 2026 and Life Congregational Church in Hunters Hill turns 150 years old! That’s 15 decades of shining God’s light near and far and helping make a difference for good. What a massive privilege for us to serve God and make His name known.
This year will see a number of events such as “Paint the Church” art day with local painters Ian Hansen and Robyn Ross. Also an old school Church Fete. And many other events.
Every month will feature at least one guest speaker for our Sunday services.
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”
Isaiah 9:2
young guns
Life Congregational Church now has its now youth group open to all high schoolers.
Youth Life is the name and so far it has been a great start to the group. They have game nights, Star Wars screenings, outings to Ice Skating or picnics by the harbour among other activities.
We want to see young people connecting and enjoying a safe, fun space to hear about God’s love and design for their lives. Our two fantastic leaders are Zoe and Owen both having recently completed their senior years at High School.
Youth Life meets fornightly on Fridays 6.30pm at the Sunroom Cafe on Alexandra Road. Corner of Ferdinand Street.
wet at woolwich!
Our church will be shortly gathering at Woolwich to hold our annual baptism ceremony for new believers.
Last year we were blessed to have five people baptised and make a public declaration of their faith in Christ as well as commitment to follow Him in earnest. Ages ranged from 8 to 60 as friends and family joined together to celebrate together.
We are believing for a similar number this year following the launch of our new Friday night youth group and the surge of high schoolers in church.
